The Kotzebue Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) office will be open from Monday, May 5, through Friday, May 16, 2025. Operating hours will be:
Monday, May 5 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Tuesday, May 6 through Friday, May 16 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Elders who need a ride to and from the Kotzebue DMV office can call NANA at (800) 478-3301 or (907) 442-3301.
NANA is proud to partner with the State of Alaska, Maniilaq Association, and Ambler Metals to bring in additional DMV staff to meet the high demand for services in the region.
This effort comes in direct response to the urgent need for local DMV support, particularly as the federal REAL ID enforcement deadline approaches on May 7, 2025. Residents are encouraged to confirm they have the required documents before visiting the DMV. A full checklist is available at www.bit.ly/RealIDchecklist.
“We recognize how essential these services are to our communities ahead of the REAL ID deadline,” said Vice President of Shareholder Relations Sandy Kowalski. “Our collaboration ensures that the people in our region can access the resources they need, especially during this critical time.”
NANA extends deep appreciation to the Kotzebue DMV staff for their ongoing service and dedication. Our thoughts are with them as they travel for medical needs. In the meantime, NANA and its partners are working together to ensure expanded DMV services are available for the region.
