Iyaġak serves as Elder advisor to the NANA board, helping guide corporate strategy while upholding the Iñupiat Iḷitqusiat.
Originally from Noorvik, Iyaġak has been a key figure in NANA’s development since 1972. A Vietnam veteran and former vice president of lands and regional affairs, he dedicated 42 years to advancing the corporation’s mission. Iyaġak also served over 30 years on the Kobuk Valley Subsistence Resource Commission and has supported regional search and rescue efforts for more than 50 years. Iyaġak is currently a member of the Northwest Arctic Borough Assembly.
