NANA Welcomes Director Stone-Manning to the Northwest Alaska Region

Kotzebue, Alaska – Today Bureau of Land Management Director Tracey Stone-Manning will be visiting Kobuk, Kotzebue, and Noorvik to meet with village residents, local leaders, and organizations with ties to the region. Upon her visit, NANA Vice President of Lands Liz Qaulluq Cravalho issued the following statement:
“We are pleased to welcome Director Stone-Manning to northwest Alaska, and we are grateful she is taking the time to listen and gather input from a variety of stakeholders in the area.
As we consider the Ambler Access Project (AAP) and related developments, NANA looks forward to continued discussions with the agency. A productive and on-schedule AAP review process, which includes rigorous Tribal consultation and public input, is critical to informing NANA’s decision making about this potential project.”
