Aqurruaq Myra Wesley is a director from Kivalina who has served on the NANA board since 2014.

Raised by her grandparents, Aqurruaq is dedicated to the traditional Iñupiatun ways of subsistence hunting and fishing. She works to share her knowledge with young people so they may “live in two worlds with one spirit.”

In addition to her NANA board duties, Aqurruaq coaches the Kivalina Qavvik boys’ basketball team for the Northwest Arctic Borough School District and serves as a commissioner of the Northwest Arctic Borough’s Village Improvement Fund.

Aqurruaq formerly coached middle school volleyball and worked as a customer service agent for Bering Air Inc.
