NANA Offices Closed Week of Independence Day

NANA offices in Kotzebue and Anchorage will be closed Monday, June 29 through Friday, July 3.

During this time, a small number of employees will be on staff to support operations, and shareholders can request medical and burial assistance by calling (907) 442-3301 or (800) 478-3301 or emailing shareholderrelations@nana.com. (Staff support will be unavailable on Friday, July 3 in observance of Independence Day.)

NANA’s village offices will be closed through July 31 as communities throughout the region continue to abide by the Northwest Arctic Borough’s extended hunker down order.

The weeklong office closure is the second of two and is part of a proactive cost-reduction measure to protect NANA’s finances and preserve shareholder interests. Although NANA’s current financial standing remains healthy, we recognize that NANA may need cash savings in the future given the potential economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, low zinc prices, the historic low price of oil and world economic trends.

During the office closure, the vast majority of NANA employees at the corporate offices will use their earned paid time off (PTO) or leave without pay – actions that lead to significant cost savings for NANA. This decision was informed by one goal: to reduce expenses in ways that have the least amount of impact on shareholders, employees and clients. Subsidiary offices and employees are not affected.

NANA will continue to inform shareholders regarding our COVID-19 response. We encourage every Alaskan to wear a mask, stay safe and check on one another.
