NANA Board Appoints Eva G. Aqimayuk Harvey to Fill Vacant Seat

At a special meeting held on Sept. 2, 2022, the NANA Board of Directors appointed Eva G. Aqimayuk Harvey to fill the at-large board seat previously held by the late Charlie Alasuk Curtis. Harvey will serve the remainder of Curtis’ term which ends in March 2024. Harvey was selected from a pool of more than 40 shareholders who applied for the seat.

“We look forward to working with Eva as she takes her place on the NANA board,” said Board Chair Utuktauraq Ely Cyrus. “She is part of a new generation of shareholders who are stepping up to lead our company.”

Originally from Noorvik, Harvey currently resides in Fairbanks, Alaska. She is the CEO and owner of Tribal Business Consulting Inc., which provides management and technical support services to federally recognized tribes, municipal governments and small businesses. She also owns Kii Rentals LLC. Her previous experience with NANA includes employment as an administrative assistant with Kisaq LLC, a quality control assistant with WHPacific, and she also worked for NMS. She was a planning director for the Northwest Arctic Borough and an environmental coordinator at Birch Creek Tribal Council. She served as chair and committee member for the Native Education Committee for the Fairbanks Native Association.

Harvey earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with an emphasis in finance from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. In 2022, she was selected as one of Alaska’s Top Forty Under 40 and as Top 40 Under 40 by the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development.
