Heat Pump/Solar Array Training Application

NANA, the Northwest Arctic Borough, and the Alaska Technical Center have partnered to provide training for NANA shareholders within the NANA region. The training will focus on residential heat pump and solar array installation and maintenance, and associated safety standards. At the end of the program, participants will be able to take the test to become a technician certified to maintain, service, repair, or dispose of HVAC equipment that uses refrigerants. July 21-25 Course Details

A six-day solar and heat pump training course leading to possible certification.

Tuition, course fees, airfare, meals, dormitory housing are provided. A $300 stipend will be paid on the successful completion of the course.

Upon completion of this course, students may be temporarily hired by contractors (TBD) to assist with the Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations (OCED) Project, to install heat pumps and community solar arrays in our villages.

Tools for training will be provided. Students that pass the course will be able to keep the tools to support future work opportunities.
