Ikaaq Roland Booth, Sr. of Noatak, Alaska, was chosen by the NANA Regional Corporation, Inc. (NANA), board to serve as their Elder Advisor.
Booth has been involved with NANA from its inception in 1972. He retired from the board in 2010 after 38 years of service.
During his time on the board, he served as first vice chair from 1993-1995 and 2003-2008 and was a member of the following NANA board committees: Land and Natural Resources (chairman), Kivalina/Noatak Land (chairman), Budget, Audit and Finance (member) and the joint NANA/Teck Red Dog Mine Management Committee (RDMC).
He was appointed to serve on the NANA Development Corporation (NDC) board of directors and was a board member of NDC subsidiary, WHPacific, Inc., (formerly known as ASCG Incorporated).
In addition to his service at NANA, Ikaaq is pastor of the Noatak Friends Church and is the former superintendent of the Friends Church Alaska Yearly Meeting. He holds a six-pack operator’s license and fishes commercially.
