A
Lifetime of Learning
NANA is committed to helping shareholders maximize their
potential. The NANA Internship and Mentoring Programs
offer shareholders the opportunity to gain real, marketable
experience. Experience that can be used to grow NANA's
companies or simply help individuals succeed in their
career and the community.
Internships
provide a bridge from the classroom to the working world,
varying in length and the number of hours worked. Interns
receive supervised on-the-job training, gain experience
and learn new skills. This training offers students
career insights, exposure to the workplace and networking
opportunities.
Internships
can be tailored to a specific area of interest and are
paid positions within any NANA-owned or joint venture
company. Some internships are advertised through the
NANA Career Center.

Mentoring requires wisdom. A mentor is like an
Elder. Elders share their wisdom and knowledge of the
Inupiat culture. Mentors share their business experience.
At
NANA, shareholder employees are paired with mentors
who are managers in professional fields such as accounting
or law. NANA mentors build long-term relationships by
guiding and motivating students toward their career
goals.
