April 29, 2015 – ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – NANA Regional Corporation, Inc.’s (NANA) board of directors elected the following board officers at its regular board meeting today:

2ND VICE-CHAIR HARVEY VESTAL
TREASURER GLADYS JONES
SECRETARY ALICE MELTON-BARR
NANA’s previous Chairman, Donald G. Sheldon, declined to be nominated for the NANA chairmanship during the meeting. The board thanked him with a standing ovation for his 26 years of service on the board, 19 of those as NANA’s chair. He will continue to serve on the board as one of two directors from Noorvik.
Additionally, NANA’s board elected five board members to serve on the nine-member board of directors of its wholly-owned subsidiary, NANA Development Corporation (NDC): Donald G. Sheldon, Linda Lee and Gladys Jones were elected to three-year terms. Pearl Gomez was elected to a two-year term and Hendy Ballot was elected to a one-year term.
NDC’s continuing directors are: Allen Ticket Sr., Ely Cyrus, Harvey Vestal and Joe Luther.
ABOUT THE NANA BOARD: NANA Regional Corporation’s 23-member board is elected by the Corporation’s more than 13,700 Iñupiat shareholders. The board structure consists of two Iñupiat shareholder board members from each NANA regional community (with the exception of Kotzebue with one board seat), two at-large seats and an Elder Advisor. Officers serve three-year terms.
